Here is a Sunset Models HO Scale Brass Pennsylvania I-1 2-10-0 Steam Locomotive and Tender. The locomotive features an unpainted brass body, motor, metal side rods, and metal wheels. The tender features an unpainted brass body, brass trucks, and metal wheels.
Introduced in the late 19th century, the 2-10-0 was first unveiled in North America for the Lehigh Valley Railroad on the East Coast. The 2-10-0 notation would catch on quickly, and would soon before commissioned in rail-yards all over the world for their versatility, and powered axels making them a powerful locomotive despite drawbacks with the firebox and running at low speeds. These models would run well into the mid-20th century before eventually making their way from a running status to a preservation state. Today a handful of these “Decapods” can be found in museums!
This item has been graded per TCA standards C-7: Excellent based on visual appearance. There are a few small spots of discoloration and tarnish throughout the unpainted brass body. There are a few spots of solder in some of the of the joints. There is a bit of sticker residue on the underframe of the tender. The wheels show light wear from minimal previous use. A weight and a few extra trim pieces are included. The instruction manual is not included. The original box is included along with the foam liner.
